LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Oldham County School District is exploring ways to ensure that schools in the district are not becoming overcrowded with students.

With potential redistricting, students in the Oldham County school system may have to change schools as a result of the new redistricting plans.

Now some parents fear that their children will be placed in lower performing schools as a result of the shifting of students.

Officials say the new district zones won't take affect until the 2014-15 school year.

A meeting regarding the redistricting issue is set to be to held Monday night at 6:00 at Oldham County High School. The meeting will give parents in the Oldham County school district a chance to learn and discuss how the redistricting changes could affect where their child will attend school..

Additional meetings will also be held Wednesday and Thursday.
