LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Jeffersonville, Ind. woman is now behind bars after police say she took advantage of the declining health of an elderly person in her care.

Police say 45-year-old Kimberly Rybicki was hired to provide daily care for an 86-year-old person who was legally blind from macular degeneration.

According to an arrest warrant, while Rybicki was caring for the victim, she accessed the elderly person's bank accounts. Police say from Nov. 1, 2010, to Oct. 1, 2012, Rybicki stole $61,000 from the victim, and used the victim's credit cards to access the money for personal gain.

Rybicki was arrested on Monday afternoon and charged with knowingly exploiting an adult, fraudulent use of credit card and theft by unlawful taking.
