LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear says he's trying to recruit a Democrat to challenge Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell next year.
The governor says he believes McConnell is vulnerable as he gets ready to run for a sixth term.
Actress Ashley Judd was once seen as a possible contender, but she decided not to run. Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes is considering running, but hasn't said when she might make a decision.
Gov. Beshear says others may be considering running against McConnell, but that he does not know who the eventual Democrat nominee will be.
Meanwhile, McConnell is also expected to face a challenger in the GOP primary. Tea part activist David Adams says two possible candidates are considering running.
