Frankfort police arrest suspect after liquor store break-in

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police in Frankfort, Ky. have arrested a man suspected of breaking into a liquor store early Wednesday.

According to a news release from the Frankfort Police Department, police were notified around 4 a.m. of an intrusion alarm at Red Dot Liquors, located at 740 Schenkel Lane.

When officers arrived at the liquor store, they found the glass in the front door had been shattered by a piece of concrete.

In the course of their investigation, officers found 25-year-old Jerry Smith on nearby Commanche Trail. Police say he was "sweating profusely" and had blood on both his shirt and hands.

Smith was questioned and arrested for burglary. He was being held in the Franklin County Regional Jail.
