LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The opening of the downtown arena three years ago is bringing more people to Louisville from out of town. That is just one of the many findings of a data-driven study by Chase Bank.
The study used credit card transactions to track spending in Louisville.
Hotels and restaurants are benefiting from the many concerts at the KFC Yum Center.
The Downtown Development Corporation commissioned the study to help plan future development for downtown that includes a grocery store.
Rebecca Metheny of the Downtown Development Corporation explains, "We have actually done a grocery study and are in the process of wrapping that up and have analyzed as to where a grocery store would be most appropriate downtown, what size, et cetera, and we'll be thinking about that in the coming weeks."
The data will also help in the ten-year update of the downtown master plan currently underway.
