LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Indiana State Police confirm that one person has died in a shooting in Ramsey, Indiana. That's in Harrison County, about 20 miles north of Corydon.
It happened in the 3500 block of State Road 64. The Harrison County Sheriff's Dept. and Indiana State Police responded to a 911 call of a shooting at 9:25 a.m. on Monday.
Indiana State Police say when the trooper got there, he found a woman on the front porch of the home and a man who had a gunshot wound. First responders were called to the home, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
ISP says no suspects are at large, but no one has been arrested. The names of those involved have not been released. An autopsy of the victim is planned.
The shooting happened across the street from the campus where North Harrison High, Middle, and Elementary Schools are located.
School officials tell WDRB they feel there is no threat to students, so normal measures are in place with no increased security.
"I looked out and her and him were in a pickup truck back here, and I figured he had come to help her start it...looked like they were messing under the dash there," said Nancy Nagel, a neighbor.
Neighbors say the homeowner and the victim were actually talking just this morning. Indiana State Police detectives spent most of the day inside the home, but won't say exactly what they believe happened.
"I just seen her with handcuffs on," said Nagel. "It was a good while after that."
