LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man was arrested Thursday after police say he stole hundreds of dollars of merchandise from two local Kroger locations.

Police say 36-year-old Carl Ziegler stole 58 DVDs and 26 Blu Rays from two Kroger locations on LaGrange Road and Taylorsville Road.

According to an arrest warrant, Ziegler walked into the stores and put the merchandise in a hand basket and left the store without paying for the merchandise.

Police say surveillance cameras captured video of Ziegler stealing the merchandise.

The incidents took place between March 26 and April 4, and the value of the stolen DVDs and Blu Rays was estimated at $1782.11, according to an arrest warrant.

Ziegler is being charged with several counts of theft by unlawful taking.
