LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Carrithers Middle School on Billtown Road in Jeffersontown was briefly evacuated this morning after a bomb threat.

Sgt. Diane Lewis with Jeffersontown Police says Metro Safe got the call about 7:02 and referred it to J'Town police, who evacuated the school located on Billtown Road.

Students that were already inside the school were sent to the soccer field, while other students who were still on the bus were sent to a shopping center on Billtown Road and Ruckriegel Parkway.

Bomb squads and K9 units searched the school and found no signs of explosives. Students were allowed to return to class just after 8 a.m.
