LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- If you are one of Insight Communications' 750,000 customers, you should have received a letter in the mail letting you know of the changes that are coming.
A brochure accompanies that letter and it is something you will definitely need in the coming weeks.
The weekend of June 8, customers will be transferred into the Time/Warner billing system. That weekend, customers will not be able to pay their bill online or at payment centers.
You can still mail your payment though.
On June 10, phone customers will make the transition. Those who have voicemail will need to re-record their greeting and reset their password.
Then on June 17, for Internet users, open registration begins that will last for several weeks. If you use Insightbb.com, you will have to register for a new Time Warner e-mail address.
You will be able to transfer your Inbox, address book and folders into the new e-mail system.
Time Warner says it is working to make the transition as smooth as possible, and for now, there are no rate increases planned, and there will be no change in channel numbers. The cable giant says once the transition is complete, it will be able to offer customers additional cable services.
Below is additional information received from Time Warner:
We will migrate all Kentucky customers over to the TWC billing system the weekend of June 8-9. No real impact is expected, however customers will not be able to pay their bill online or at the payment centers that weekend. Customers can still mail in their payment.
On June 10, all Insight Digital Phone customers will transition to TWC Digital Phone.
No major impact except for voicemail users. They will need to take 2-3 minutes to re-record a greeting and reset their PIN (password)
Postcard and email specific to phone customers with instructions will arrive soon.
Website has all information and will have FAQ on phone front and center at time of transition. The web site is http://www.twcwelcome.com/
Internet registration will start June 17 with open registration. Email will go to all customers and any Insight KY customer can click the link and follow the steps to transition over.
Open registration will continue for several weeks. Customers can go at their leisure to http://registration.rr.com and follow the brief steps to accept terms of service and transition email over (if desired – if you use Yahoo! Gmail etc… no change needed there).
If you use InsightBB.com email you will get a new @TWC email address and the registration will walk you through moving your address book, inbox and any folders.
Later (date TBD, but when self registration drops off) we will begin to notify the remaining customers of the date we will be moving them over if they have not had the opportunity to complete registration. We will do this in small batches as to not cause issues with customers calling in en masse should they have questions.
Other features and services will be available after the transition is complete and will be communicated at that time.
