LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- After being closed for a decade, students and staff are making a splash at Central High School.  The school re-opened its aquatic center Thursday morning.

Before closing around 2002, Central's swim coach says they had between 20 and 30 students on the swim team.  But for the past 10 years, the group has dwindled to just five because they had to travel to Shawnee to practice.

The pool, complete with Central's ready-to-sting Yellow Jacket in the center, will be open for the rest of the district to use as well as community classes.
