LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Nashville couple was killed after their car veered off the road and crashed into a tree near Elizabethtown, Ky.

Kentucky State Police say they got a call about the crash just before 4 p.m. on Thursday.

A State Trooper found a 2006 Toyota Avalon in a creek bed off of Interstate 65 at the 98 mile marker. That's where they found 75-year-old Clair R. Kahane dead in the driver's seat.

Police later found her husband, 78-year-old Charles S. Kahane, almost 1,000 feet away from the crash in the creek bed.

The Hardin County Coroner pronounced both victims dead at the scene.

Kentucky State Police are still investigating what caused the crash.
