LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- It could take months for a judge to decide if the man convicted of killing an Indiana University student should get a new trial.

John Myers II was convicted in 2006 in the death of Jill Behrman.  Her remains were found nearly three years after she went missing.

Myers is serving a 65-year sentence.

A judge has been hearing arguments since late last month.  Myers maintains his original attorney disregarded evidence that could have exonerated him.

Prosecutors say they are confident that Myers would be convicted again if he's granted a new trial.
