LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- More than 400 people packed on post at Fort Knox to honor soldiers both past and present.

Today's Memorial Day ceremony paid special tribute to the late Pfc. David P. Nash.

Military officials say while serving in Vietnam in 1968, Nash rolled onto an exploding grenade, sacrificing himself and saving the lives of three fellow soldiers. About 100 of Nash's family members attended the ceremony.

Nash was a native kentuckian who grew up in Whitesville. He received the Medal of Honor for the bravery displayed in his final acts.
