LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The trial against a man accused of murdering a man in Old Louisville, then hiding him in the basement, continued on Tuesday. Last week, prosecutors said Jeffrey Mundt killed James Carroll.

But the defense is painting a much different picture of what happened during the night a drug-fueled love triangle ended in murder.

The defense claims that it was actually Mundt's former partner, Joseph Banis, killed Carroll.

Banis has already been convicted of murder.

In court on Tuesday an inmate who was in jail with Banis in 2009 and stayed with the couple, testified saying he was threatened in jail.

Last week Banis testified for the prosecution, saying Mundt killed Carroll.

Banis admitted that he helped Mundt hide the body in a Tupperware container and bury it in the basement of their Old Louisville home.

Closing arguments are set for Wednesday morning.
