LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- A group of Louisville elementary school students got to see the impact of their artwork on Thursday.

Shacklette Elementary first graders helped display their artwork in the children's wing at Frazier Rehab Institute.  Art was cut from the school curriculum this year, so the class received a $300 grant from Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's Foundation to purchase art supplies.

Students got to show off their creations to young patients, including Kye Wilson.  First grader Kishan Brown said, "When I came and saw Kye come out if felt like I was a real artist.

Teacher Brianna Moss explains, "We talked about it a lot, that someone would look at it who needed to make them happy, to make sure the pictures were colorful to look at and it was going to be children who needed to get better."

Professional artwork is displayed throughout the hospital through the Frazier Rehab Healing Art program.
