Louisville man charged with DUI, murder after drunk-driving accident

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A drunk-driving accident near Iroquois Park leaves one driver dead and the other behind bars for murder.

Around 10:30 Friday night, LMPD responded to an head-on collision at Manslick Road involving two cars.

Police say 25-year-old Anthony Smiley was weaving across lanes on Manslick Road when he crossed into the southbound lane and hit another car.

The victim, 57-year-old Robin Jent, was transported to University Hospital with critical injuries and later pronounced dead around 11:45 p.m.

Her cause of death was due to multiple blunt force injuries and no funeral arrangements have been made yet.

Smiley was charged with a DUI and murder.
