LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The owner of a well known restaurant is now offering a reward to help find out who killed Bardstown Police officer Jason Ellis.
Jeff Ruby, who owns Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse, tells WDRB he's offering his own reward of $33,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction of those responsible for Ellis' murder.
Ruby says he's offering that amount because Ellis was 33-years-old.
Meanwhile, the reward fund operated by the Bardstown Police Department stands at $125,000.
Ellis was gunned down on his way home from work, when he stopped to move a piece of debris from an exit ramp. Investigators say the debris was placed in the middle of the road intentionally to target him.
