LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The rides and buildings at Kentucky Kingdom have deteriorated and need to be refurbished to ensure their safety, but the man who wants to fix it up says he'll still be able to reopen it on schedule.
Businessman Ed Hart heads the group that plans to reopen the park.
A proposal before the Metro Council would authorize a taxing district in and around the park site at the Kentucky Expo Center.
Occupational taxes paid by park employees would be rebated to the group planning to reopen the park. Hart says the project is on budget and on schedule to reopen May 24th.
