Pedestrians treated to music on the Big Four Bridge

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB)---Local musicians gave people on the Big Four Pedestrian Bridge a free performance on Sunday afternoon.

The event was called "Water Music on the Bridge".

The musicians collaborated to play George Frederic Handel's Water Music.

In 1717, King George I of England wanted a concert while sailing.

That's how the song was composed.

Musicians performed the song twice for the King, on a barge.

On Sunday, pedestrians were able to hear it while walking on the bridge.

The musical event was sponsored by Classical 90.5.
