Meijer offers Tasty Turkey Wraps to get children to eat vegetables

Posted: Updated:

Getting children to eat fruits and vegetables can be a challenge. But Meijer Healthy Living Advisor Janine Faber, Med, RD, LD says it's a little easier with the right approach. She has a recipe for a tasty turkey wrap that incorporates extra vegetables in a kid-friendly package.

Produce For Kids

Produce for Kids is a national program that advocates the importance of healthy diets for children and raises funds for Children's Miracle Network hospitals in local communities. All Meijer stores will participate in the 2013 Produce for Kids program. Funds are raised through sales of participating sponsor products during the campaign dates, May 26- June 22.

Over the past 10 years, Meijer shoppers and the Produce for Kids participating fresh produce companies have raised $528,184 for local children's hospitals.

PFK's slogan 'Get Healthy, Give Hope' emulates our goal to teach children the benefits of eating healthy, especially during the current obesity crisis in our country, while helping hospitalized children.
