LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they've caught a pair of thieves they say broke into homes and cars throughout our area.
Hunter Browning and Cordella Turrell were arrested yesterday.
Neighbors called police after they say the pair were leaving a home they had reportedly burglarized.
"What's important in this case is neighbors were very vigilant and seeing some suspicious activity -- reporting that to the police dept in a very timely manner, which enabled detectives and officers to locate these individuals very quickly," said Major Barry Wilkerson of LMPD.
From cell phones to chargers, electronics and even golf clubs, police say they have recovered between $3,000 and $5,000 worth of stolen merchandise.
Officers are still trying to determine where all the items were stolen from, but say some of the crimes happened in the east end, the Highlands area and even Simpsonville.
Police say they are seeing an increase of these crimes, but say it's important to note they are making arrests and returning the stolen items to the rightful owners. If you believe your property was stolen, you're asked to call LMPD's 8th Division at (502) 574-2258.
