LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Five JCPS high schools are receiving national attention. Newsweek and The Daily Beast released their list of "America's Best High Schools," and DuPont Manual, Ballard, Eastern, Brown School, and Louisville Male made the list.
It's based on graduation rates, college acceptance rates, and test scores. Kentucky Board of Education Chair David Karem and Kentucky Department of Education Commissioner Terry Holliday, in a joint letter to the principals, said, "We commend you and the teachers at your school for their focus on college and career readiness."
"I want to congratulate the students for their hard work and dedication to achieving their educational goals and to the teachers who helped make that happen," said Dr. Donna Hargens, JCPS superintendent. "This recognition is a reflection of the district's vision of all students graduating prepared to reach their full potential and contribute to our society throughout life."
