Free summer bowling for kids

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A summer program is re-introducing an old sport to the next generation. It's your chance to hit the bowling alley for free.

Ken Bowl jumped on the opportunity to offer two games for free, as part of a nationwide summer program. The 50-year old business says it's a chance to introduce the sport to kids.

"We're looking to do something for the community, help them out and this was our way of doing it," said Rob Carter, owner of Ken Bowl.

Two free games cost $6 and locally, there are 4,000 kids signed up for the program.

"A lot of money goes out for free games of bowling but they get some exercise hopefully they'll come in and spend some money and the snack bar and things like that," said Carter.

The sacrifice is worth seeing these smiles, as kids get a grip on the old past time.

"It's great to see them out here bowling because they're actually spending time with their families, and families are a big thing that's what its about here," said Carter.
