POLICE: Large marijuana grow operation found in Shively home
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Shively Police say they have arrested a man after a large-scale marijuana growing operation was discovered inside his home.
According to an arrest warrant, police searched the home of 24-year-old Jason Abell on Quinn Drive, near Rockford Lane, on June 22.
They allegedly found a sophisticated marijuana growing setup in the basement, with approximately 70 marijuana plants, along with grow lights, carbon dioxide canisters, chemicals, timers and a water filtration system. Police say scales and baggies were also found, along with marijuana that was packaged for sale.
He was taken into custody Monday afternoon and charged with cultivating marijuana, trafficking in marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
