LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they arrested a man who had become high on marijuana sometime after smoking a peace pipe and "conducting ancient Indian rituals."
According to an arrest report, officers were called to a home on Bohannon Avenue, near the intersection of Pendleton Road and Dixie Highway shortly after 6 a.m. Tuesday when someone reported a man was trying to get inside the home.
When they arrived, police say they encountered 18-year-old Shawn M. Scott.
Officers yelled for him to stop, but he took off running, according to the arrest report. Police eventually caught up with Scott and took him into custody.
According to the arrest report, Scott admitted to using marijuana. Police say he had dry mouth, a discolored tongue, couldn't remember where he was or how he got there, and was unsure of what time it was (he thought it was noon, even though the sun was just rising).
He also allegedly had no shoes, no belt and didn't know where his truck was, but added that, "he liked to hide his truck so it's not stolen."
Police say he told them that hours earlier, he and a friend were "conducting ancient Indian rituals," which apparently involved smoking a peace pipe.
Officer say they found his truck nearby on Pendleton Road.
He was arrested and charged with fleeing or evading police, public intoxication and criminal trespassing.
