LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Metro Councilwoman Barbara Shanklin is fighting to have her removal hearing delayed. Her attorney was in court Wednesday morning.
Shanklin is asking a judge to stop the Metro Council from trying her until her appeal against the Ethics Commission ends. It recommended she be removed after allegations she hired her grandson as an aide while he had outstanding warrants.
She's also accused of using tax money to benefit her family.
Shanklin's attorney asked the judge to make a quick ruling. The Metro Council removal hearing is set to begin next month.
