Stolen iPhone tracked to car in east Louisville
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they arrested two men after the victim of a theft tracked his stolen iPhone to a car.
It happened on Tuesday evening on N. English Station Road, near Aiken Road. Police say they received a call from a man who said he'd tracked his stolen iPhone 4s to that location.
When officers arrived, they allegedly searched the vehicle belonging to 28-year-old Michael D. Bennett and found the missing iPhone underneath the car, between the brake lines and the door molding.
Police say Bennett admitted to stealing the phone, "which he found, putting it into his car and hiding the phone after seeing police on scene."
Police say a second suspect, 26-year-old Brandon Cook, was involved in hiding the iPhone.
Another iPhone was discovered inside the car, according to police. Police say it belonged to a victim in Indiana, who said the phone had been lost and Bennett did not have permission to have it.
Officers also allegedly found prescription medication, belonging to a woman from Elizabethtown, Ky.
Both Bennett and Cook were arrested and charged with receipt of stolen property. Bennett was also charged with tampering with physical evidence and possession of a controlled substance.
