LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Brown-Forman says it will spend more than $35 million to expand its operations at the Woodford Reserved Distillery.
The company intends to add warehouses where the bourbon ages for several years before bottling. The company also plans to add stills, improve its bottling line, and increase its capacity.
The distillery has 30 full-time employees right now, with the expansion expected to add another 15 jobs. State officials say the company could receive up to $3 million in tax incentives.
The Woodford Reserve investment is happening during the largest expansion in Kentucky's bourbon industry since Prohibition. Kentucky distilleries have invested $265 million in new and expanded facilities in the past couple of years.
