LOUISIVLLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A unique project that brings fresh produce and vegetables to an area of Louisville that's considered a "food desert."
The People's Garden in the Shawnee Neighborhood allows backyard gardeners a space to grow radishes, strawberries, and other greens.
But the project needs the public's help to finish two massive greenhouses that will eventually distribute thousands of plants and vegetables to area residents and groceries.
That's why the group has started an online kick starter campaign to raise $7500.
So far the group has raised almost 15 percent of its goal. You can donate as little as a dollar.
