Fashion Council is a yearlong program meant to build fashion sense, confidence and self esteem in children and young adults.
Participants attend an hour-long training session once a month on modeling and professional etiquette. Fashion Council attendees typically participate in TV appearances, fashion shows and fund-raising events during the year.
Fashion consultant Jo Ross has run the program for 15 years.
The council has two age groups, children 6 to 12 years old, and teens and adults 13 to 20 years old. Participants are required to attend all regularly scheduled meetings, with only one absence allowed.
