LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Jeffersontown, Ky. man was arrested Monday afternoon after police say he stole items from a local Kroger, then shoved one of the store's female employees.

Police say 34-year-old David Dusel walked into a Kroger, located in Jeffersontown near the corner of Taylorsville Road and Chenoweth Run Road, and filled a shopping cart with items.

According to an arrest report, Dusel then left the Kroger without paying for the items in the shopping cart. A loss prevention employee spotted Dusel leaving the store with the unpaid items, and followed him.

Once in the parking lot, police say the employee confronted Dusel about the stolen merchandise. After Dusel was unable to show a receipt for the items, the employee tried to get him back into the store, according to an arrest report.

Police say Dusel then pushed the female employee in her chest and took off on foot.

Once police arrived on the scene, the employee said Dusel had come back, and fled for a second time in a silver Ford, police say.

Police later located the silver Ford at the address where the vehicle was registered.

Police say Dusel admitted to stealing the items from Kroger, but denied touching the female employee

The value of the stolen merchandise was $107.49, according to an arrest report.

Dusel is charged with one count of robbery.
