LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Actress Ashley Judd isn't running for the U.S. Senate, but says she's ready to fight beside Alison Lundergan Grimes.
Judd had considered the race, but announced in March that she wouldn't run for Senator Mitch McConnell's seat.
When she pulled out, Democratic leaders turned to Grimes, Kentucky's Secretary of State, as their candidate of choice.
Grimes announced her decision to take on McConnell Monday afternoon.
Judd is showing her support for Grimes on twitter. In regards to Grimes announcing she would make the U.S. Senate run, Judd tweeted, "Thrilled for the people of Kentucky and ready to fight beside Alison."
