LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB)---It's that time of year for fireworks!
It's also one of the busiest times of year for animal control officers!
Officials with Louisville Metro Animal Services say they expect to be busy taking in animals over the next couple of days.
The noise sometimes causes pets to run away, or can pose a danger to the pets.
Officials are encouraging you not to take your animals to see fireworks.
And, to keep them inside and sheltered as fireworks are going off.
"You have your rabies tags, license and everything up to date and that particular information is worn around your pets neck, just in case the pet gets spooked we can identify your pet and return him home," says Donald Robinson with Louisville Metro Animal Services.
LMAS officials say they will have animal control officers out all night on the 4th of July assisting the public.
