LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say a Bardstown, Ky. mother overdosed on heroin in a car while her infant daughter was in the back seat.

According to an arrest report, the incident took place in the Walmart parking lot at the corner of Poplar Level Road and Hess Lane, just after 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police say Walmart employees found 24-year-old Sydney R. Sleadd unconscious in a vehicle, with the infant in the back seat. According to the arrest report, the infant was dehydrated and was taken to Kosair Children's Hospital.

Sleadd allegedly admitted to using heroin with her daughter in the vehicle. Police say they also found syringes, marijuana and a pipe inside the infant's diaper bag, folded into her clothing.

Sleadd was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a minor.
