HORSE CAVE, Ky. (AP) -- The operators of Hidden River Cave and the American Cave Museum think they have found a way to reverse declining visitors to the south-central Kentucky attraction.
In addition to cave tours, operators have added a zip line and a rappelling rope for visitors to experience.
Dave Foster, who is director of the nonprofit organization the operates the cave and museum, told the Daily News that the grand opening of the new features last month attracted 140 people in addition to 150 that visited the cave. He says the additions are already "impacting our number positively."
The zip line's length is about 280 feet, and it goes across the mouth of the cave.
The number of visitors to the attraction had dropped to about 8,000 per year.
