LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Race officials in Madison, Indiana have postponed the Lucas Oil Madison Regatta on the Ohio River and hope to have it sometime before Sunday evening.
All of the Saturday Regatta festival events are still scheduled to go off as planned, including Sunday's full card of musical events and air show. H1 Unlimited drivers will also participate in 2 autograph signing sessions one at 12 noon and again at 3pm.
Heavy rains in the area this week have kept the swollen river from receding to raceable levels as officials had hoped. With the high water come other concerns such as floating debris on the race course and a lack of space in the pit area.
Earlier, officials had condensed the schedule to take advantage of a predicted improvement in conditions expected on Sunday.
