Paddle for Hunger raises money and awareness for food programs

One in five Kentuckiana children are at risk of going to bed hungry tonight.

Nearly 1 billion people suffer from hunger around the world.

The Louisville Mayor's Office and Yum! Brands present the 2013 Paddle for Hunger event to benefit Dare to Care Food Bank and the World Food Program.

Paddle for Hunger is a day of racing that includes, team building and competition as teams of ten race Voyager Canoes on the Ohio River.

The Paddle for Hunger event will host a Paddlers Village featuring live local bands, DJ's, Food Trucks and much more.

Canned Good Donations are encouraged.

All of the proceeds from the 2013 Paddle for Hunger event will be donated to The Dare to Care Food Bank and the World Food Program.

Plus they are always looking for volunteers to help with the event.

For the past 11 years, Yum! Brands have been the largest supporter of Dare to Care Food Bank, donating more than $10 million to assist those in need.

Six years ago, Yum! Brands created World Hunger Relief to generate awareness, funds and volunteerism for the World Food Program and other hunger relief agencies.
