LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man has been arrested in connection with a bizarre incident in which police say he physically attacked several juveniles, and sexually abused a young girl.

It happened just before midnight on July 4 on River Road, near the Waterfront.

Police say they were called to that location on a report of several people fighting. According to the arrest report, police made contact with several juveniles who said 34-year-old Raymond Mantle attacked them.

One female victim was allegedly punched twice in the face. Police say Mantle forced her to say the words, "Those who bless Israel get blessed."

Police say Mantle attacked another juvenile, a female who was under the age of 16. He allegedly slammed her head into a stone, got on top of her, ripped her shirt off and fondled her sexually against her will.

The victims were very close to the river, according to police, and could have easily fallen in during the scuffle.

The two girls ran away from Mantle, screaming "Help me!" A third female victim saw what was happening and punched Mantle in the face, injuring her own hand in the process, according to the arrest report.

Police say when they arrived, Mantle was being held down by several citizens in the area. According to the arrest report, officers told him to put his hands behind his back, but he refused.

He was eventually arrested and charged with sex abuse, wanton endangerment, assault and disorderly conduct.
