LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say a hysterical 2-year-old found wandering a hotel parking lot led to a discovery that put three people behind bars.
Officers were called to the Days Inn on Arthur Street, near East Hill Street, shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday after someone reported that the child had been left alone.
Police say they found the boy in a "hysterical" state, unable to tell officers the names of his parents.
After knocking on several doors, officers allegedly found the parents passed out in Room 118. Police say they could see marijuana from the door. After getting verbal and written permission to search the room, they allegedly found a "large amount" of suspected powder cocaine hidden in soft drink cans with false tops.
Police say they also seized $7,000 and a gas mask "commonly used to cut narcotics."
Police arrested Samantha Ayala and Mario Guzman and charged them with wanton endangerment.
Marilyn Guzman is charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
