LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say she snatched up a 1-year-old child, put the child in a chokehold and held a knife to the child's throat -- all because she wanted some information from the child's mother.

According to an arrest report, the incident took place on June 27.

Police say 19-year-old Breeann Hurkes got into an argument and stabbed a woman -- her ex-girlfriend. She then allegedly grabbed the woman's 1-year-old child, placed the child in a chokehold and held a steak knife to the child's throat.

"The victim's face began to turn purple as the defendant yelled for the victim's mother to tell the truth," police say.

Hurkes allegedly told the child's mother that she would kill the child if she did not "get the truth."

Police eventually arrested her.

She was already in custody on a first degree assault charge for the alleged stabbing. She's now also charged with wanton endangerment and terroristic threatening in connection with her actions toward the child.
