On Friday Keith Kaiser and Jude Redfield held their second annual Slip N Slide Extravaganza.
Last year, with the help of Home Depot and the New Albany Fire Department, we created a very elementary Slip N Slide experience.
This year, we found some experts who built three mega slides, each 100 feet long with bigger splash zones and engineered for speed. The creations took 150 tons of sand, 300 mulch bags, gymnastic mats, and hundreds of feet of plastic.
The folks at Highview Baptist Church have graciously let the WDRB in the Morning crew stop by and dive in.
It's the annual Highview Baptist Church "Watermelon and Water Fun" event at their East Campus off Shelbyville Road, July 12th, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The event is FREE!
Hotdogs, popcorn, shaved ice, lemonade and water available for all at no cost. Plus there will be three water slides, a dunking booth, water dodgeball and a preschool area with sprinklers and baby pools for the little ones.
The goal of the event is to reach out to the community.
