Holdup at Captain D's leads to serious car crash

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two people are arrested after a robbery at a local restaurant, and police say it was an inside job.

Police say at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, James Beverly Jr. walked into the Captain D's Restaurant on Breckenridge Lane and pulled out a gun and demanded cash. An employee gave Beverly the money and he left, according to police.

But it turns out that employee was his roommate, Jahvany Derisier.

Both suspects are charged with robbery. But, Beverly Jr. is also charged with assault because as he drove away, he hit allegedly hit another car, injuring the driver.

After the accident, police say Beverly Jr. then took off running through nearby neighborhoods and was caught in the parking lot of Canaan Christian Church.

Both men are now behind bars at Metro Corrections.
