New Louisville Metro Corrections computer system has bugs

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- After a lot of headaches, jail officials say they are continuing to work out the kinks in a new system.

The "X Jail" system is designed to make Metro Corrections records available online.

But law enforcement and attorneys say the computer system kinks have caused problems with bookings and times for releasing inmates.

The $1.5 million program is expected to provide the public with better information. Officials say it's also designed to save the jail time and money with answering phone calls.

Jail officials say they hope to open up the site for public access next week.
