LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Federal officials tell WDRB News they apprehended a man who was carrying a loaded gun in a carry-on bag at the Louisville International Airport Wednesday morning.

According to a press release, the gun was discovered by TSA officers when the bag was passed through an x-ray machine.

"TSA contacted the Louisville Regional Airport Authority Department of Public Safety, who responded, confiscated the handgun, loaded with five rounds, and cited the man on a state charge," the press release states. "There was no impact to airport operations. The man, who was ticketed to fly to Baltimore, was permitted to catch his flight -- minus the gun and ammunition."
