15 years ago, in 1998, The Big Lebowski was released to mixed reviews and was quickly dismissed by critics as a complicated mess.
In 2002, a group of fans from the unlikeliest of places, Louisville, Kentucky gathered some fellow fans in a tiny Baptist-run bowling alley in the seedy side of town to celebrate their favorite movie.
Expecting 15-20 friends to show up, they were delighted to welcome nearly 150 fans, now known worldwide as "Achievers," to Louisville and Lebowski Fest was born.
12 years later, Lebowski Fest hosts the 12th Annual Lebowski Fest in Louisville with over 50 events in more than 30 cities under its belt.
