LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Some county clerks in Kentucky are complaining about a fundraising request from Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes.

Grimes is running to be the Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate, hoping to unseat Republican Senator Mitch McConnell.

Oldham County Clerk Julie Barr, who is a Republican, says the email was not appropriate.

She received it this week.

That's because Grimes has oversight over county clerks on elections.

Grimes's political advisor says the email was only intended for people who had requested campaign updates.
