BLOUNTSVILLE, Ind. (AP) -- A two-vehicle crash in eastern Indiana has killed two people and left five other hospitalized.
The Henry County Sheriff's Department says the crash occurred in heavy rain Saturday on U.S. 35 near the town of Blountsville, about 50 miles northeast of Indianapolis.
Deputies say an SUV driven by 59-year-old John Petry of Kettering, Ohio, hydroplaned into the path of a car coming in the opposite direction.
Deputies say the driver and an adult male passenger in the car were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, and a second adult male and two children also in the car were hospitalized. Their names haven't been released.
Petry and a passenger in his vehicle, 57-year-old Cheryl Petry of Kettering, also were hospitalized. It wasn't clear how the two might be related.
