ATTICA, Ind. (AP) -- A small Indiana community's two-year run with a military-style endurance course has ended after a parking dispute pitting event organizers against a local school district.
The Tough Mudder competition has been held in Attica the last two years. More than 7,000 competitors and hundreds of spectators attended the 2012 event at Attica Badlands Off-Road Park.
The Journal & Courier reports Tough Mudder organizers moved the event to Illinois this year after participants and spectators got caught up in a parking dispute that left many stranded during a storm.
The Attica Consolidated School Corp. decided to offer parking after declining to partner with the event. Mudder officials say people were directed to the school lot instead of to the official parking lot that organizers spent $15,000 to create.
