LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- College and Career Centers are already being constructed at Bullitt East and North Bullitt High Schools, and will also be added to Bullitt Central. They will contain classrooms, a media/technology room, and other facilities.
The center at Bullitt Central will be part of the most extensive renovation made since the school's opening in 1970. That renovation will also include a new kitchen and cafeteria. Bullitt Central will offer an Allied Health/Nursing pathway, and will add a fashion and interior design lab later.
North Bullitt Principal Jeff Marshall praised the additional space and resources: "This past year we offered adaptive physical education to our students with moderate to severe disabilities and peer tutors. This will continue as we work to increase our implementation of the Practical Living curriculum."
North Bullitt already offers business, family consumer science, and JROTC and is looking at adding Allied Health and Agriculture.
Bullitt East will use its added space for a new Agriculture program, business classrooms, Jr. Guard, and adding Engineering Technology in the 2014-15 school year.
Superintendent Keith Davis said in a news release, "Finally, each building will include a large space that can be used for student assemblies, musical and theatrical productions, and as an auxiliary gymnasium. The addition of multiple sports over the years, such as volleyball, wrestling, and archery have made it very difficult to schedule the current gyms and has led to some practices being held well into the night. These spaces will be welcome additions for our high schools."
