Police issue no contact order after children in filthy home

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A mother and step dad have been ordered to have no contact with their children after police found them living in filthy conditions.

Louisville Metro Police say they found Christopher Strickland, Debra Combs and her six children sleeping on the floor in a vacant house covered with files and trash.

The children ages 4 to 11 are now at the Home of the Innocents.

The couple pleaded not guilty to charges of wanton endangerment, and their bonds were each set at $5,000 full cash.

Strickland is also facing a burglary charge after police say he broke into the vacant home on Bank Street.
